Church community gathering together

About Our Church

We are a congregation of believers and their children united not by cultural practices, consumer preferences, or political parties, but by one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.

What Drives Us

Vision & Mission

Our Vision

Redeemer Reformation Church pursues the glory of God as a community shaped by Word-centered worship that brings the comfort of the gospel to Regina.

Our Mission

Our mission is to nurture the saints’ fellowship with their Triune God through the means of grace and to equip them to live faithfully before God.

Our Story

If we were to compare the growth of Redeemer to a natural phenomenon we would likely not choose the speed of light. We're probably more like an oak tree. However, by God's grace He has preserved us and caused us to grow numerically and spiritually, even through heartache and struggle.

1975

A small group of believers started meeting in homes in hopes of establishing a reformed church in Regina.

1982

Grace Presbyterian Church was born. It became a mission church under the oversight of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

1997

In a surprising providence of God this small group was able to purchase our Hill Ave. building.

2003

Through a series of difficult events Grace was deemed by the PCA to be unsustainable and as a result it became independent. A small group of people, led by Pastor Doug Codling, a PCA minister, decided to continue on.

2009

The congregation decided to join the URCNA and we changed our name to Redeemer Reformation Church.

2010

The congregation called Pastor Brian Cochran to shepherd our church.

2013

The first few years of being in the URCNA was a mixture of excitement and growing pains. By 2013 we had shrunk in number and had no local elders or deacons. We then asked to go under the care of Providence URC in Winnipeg as a church plant in the URCNA.

2015

As a material sign of God's sustaining grace to this little church we paid off the mortgage on our building.

2021

From 2013 to 2021 God faithfully sustained us, grew us in number, and matured our church in Christ. We grew to about 80 members and 18 families. God also blessed us with a local Council of two elders, two deacons and a minister. We also became self-sustaining financially. With the concurring advice of Classis Western Canada of the URCNA we re-organized Redeemer Reformation Church into a particular congregation in the URCNA in October.

By God's grace we press on in our mission.

Our Core Values

Scripture

We believe that scripture alone is the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God, the only rule of faith and life, by which all doctrine, worship, and practice of the church must be tested.

Creeds

We gladly confess the historic Christian faith together with the ancient Church. We confess the following Creeds—which summarize the core teachings of Scripture about the Triune God and our salvation in Jesus Christ:

Confessions

We joyfully receive the Three Forms of Unity as faithful summaries of the teaching of Scripture that guide our doctrine, worship, and life together:

Community

We live the Christian life together as members of Christ's body, sharing in worship, fellowship, and mutual care as a covenant family.
